The Pattaya News's mission and values: informing an international audience with accurate, locally grounded reporting on Pattaya, Chonburi and Thailand.
Why this exists
Pattaya is one of the most written-about, most misunderstood cities in Southeast Asia — a place international outlets love to cover from a distance, usually through a single sensational lens. The Pattaya News exists to do the opposite: report the region as it actually is, for the people who actually live in, visit, or care about it, with the timeliness and local grounding that distant coverage can't offer.
What we set out to do
- Inform, quickly and accurately: give a genuinely international audience — tourists, the resident expat community, Thailand-watchers — reliable, timely English-language news about Pattaya, Chonburi and the wider region;
- Provide context, not caricature: Pattaya is a real city with a real economy, real families and real civic life alongside its famous nightlife; coverage aims to reflect the whole picture rather than the stereotype (see the two Pattayas for more on that tension);
- Serve a diverse, global readership: from newly arrived visitors to decades-long residents, in as many languages as the outlet can reasonably reach (editions);
- Stay useful over the long run: practical, accurate reporting that people can actually rely on for decisions that matter — travel plans, safety, immigration, business.
The values behind the mission
- Accuracy over speed at any cost: being first matters less than being right — the practical detail of how that plays out lives on editorial standards;

- Respect for the community being covered: Pattaya is home to a lot of people, not just a headline — coverage aims to serve, not exploit, the community it reports on;
